A Case Study of Ijiacai: The First Online Education Platform in Personal Financial Management in China

Have you started thinking about how to configure your household assets? When you decide to take financial management training courses to systematically acquire financial knowledge, do you find you do not have enough time? The appearance of online wealth management education websites, represented by Ijiacai, aims to solve these problems. You can make full use of the fragmented time of commuting or waiting in the restaurant to learn any financial knowledge that you are interested in through short and interesting videos to seek wealth independence. As a pioneer in promoting financial education’s move from the traditional to the online delivery, Ijiacai was officially launched in October 2014. The company employs senior economists, financial professors and experts, and seeks to spread investment and financial management knowledge to millions of affluent people. It seeks to help ordinary people master financial management skills through videos, public classes, and other forms of online content. Ijiacai’s test version was launched in November 2013, and the platform had nearly 40 financial management experts after a year of development. It then launched more than 40 financial management courses and more than 400 micro-courses, providing users with reliable, operational and efficient direct online financial education. This article analyses the development of Ijiacai as an example of how the traditional education industry can use the internet transform its delivery methods.
