On May 14th, the award ceremony for the 5th Global Fintech Venture Competition was held in Beijing, and the top 10 enterprises and the winners of individual awards was officially announced. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Yifei, Vice President and Secretary General of Beijing Fintech Institute and Executive Vice President of Beijing Qingfen Institute for Neo Financial Research. Wang Zhengwei, Associate Dean of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University delivered a keynote speech. Wang Zhengwei pointed out that the competition has been held for five consecutive times since 2018, attracting nearly 1,000 project applications, serving nearly 500 entrepreneurial projects in depth, and matching more than 100 financial and investment institutions. The types of participating enterprises cover many sub-sectors within the fintech industry, and many enterprises have developed into leaders in various fields. He expressed the hope that start-ups can bring more momentum to the development of fintech in China, and use the innovation in the finance industry to build a better and harmonious society. The judging team of the contest is composed of experts from Institute for Fintech Research, Tsinghua University (THUIFR), professional visitors, expert judges and representatives of investment frontlines. In the review process, the innovation value, sustainable growth, core team background and investors' investment intention of the enterprise business model were comprehensively assessed.
